Patient Wanted a Wider Smile

December 18th, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

This patient came in with existing porcelain crowns with metal underneath.  She did not like the dark line that slowly started to show as the patient got natural gum recession from grinding her teeth.  The patient also stated that she wanted a “wider smile”, and did not like the fact that she showed “black space” where her teeth ended and her check started.  Dr. Frazar spoke to the patient about bleaching her lower teeth, replacing the front two crowns, and adding 4 veneers on the sides of the front two teeth to give her the appearance of a wider, larger smile.  The patient loves her smile and has already referred her husband for a similar procedure.

A New Smile With No-Prep Veneers

December 18th, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

This is a high school patient that recently had her conventional braces removed and was born with peg laterals.  Peg laterals, are teeth on the side of the large two front teeth that come in smaller than they should be compared to the surrounding teeth, and is a common condition that can be passed down to children.  The patient and her mother wanted to hear about their options to correct the shape of the teeth but were hesitant to prepare, or smooth the enamel of the teeth.  Dr. Frazar spoke to the patient about no-prep veneers.  The teeth can be prepared for the no-prep veneers and the surface of the tooth is not smoothed at all.  The patient received two veneers and is very pleased with the result of the aesthetics of her new smile.

   “I love my new smile.”
